Zibima No.5 is a middle ripe hybrid variety and it is bred from a big
spike capsule non thorn middle ripe female group with a anti-disease big
grain type autogamy
group that introduced from overseas for a male parent .
1. Yield Performance: In 1998-2000, it took part in Ningxia Muslem
Municipalities new varieties of castor-oil plant comparative and
productive experiments. Compared with the contrast , the increased
production is more than 20％, the yield is in the first position of all
the test new varieties. the output commonly is 4.5 t. /ha. In Xinjiang ,
the yield is more than 6.45 t./ha.which planted in high produce measures.
Single plant production potential is more than 1,000g. In 2001, it passed
the examination and approval by Crops Breed Examine and Approve Committee
of Ningxia Muslem Municipalities.
2. Characteristics: Young stem is a deep reddish purple color. The
caulis and nervation is lilac. The plant high is 200 cm, it has 4-5 first
branches. Single plant can grow 7-8 spikes. The spike shape likes a
pagoda
.The main spike long 55-70cm. .The capsule has many dense thorns. The seed
shape is an ellipse, and has red brown color grain. 100 seeds weight is
about 40g. The kernel rate is 76.4% .The seeds contain oil 50.57%, and the
kernel contain oil 64.88%.

The Main Points of Cultivation: It can be planted in the area of the
whole country that have no frost time more than 115 days. And it can be
grow especially prominent in the area of Northeast, Northwest and North in
China. Seedtime:
In Middle Region of Shandong Province, the time for spring sowing is from
the last ten-day of March to the first ten-day of April. If interline
planting of wheat field, the time is in the first ten-day of May. It is
suitable to plant in the last twenty days of April for the regions of
Northeast and Inner Mongolia of China. Cultivation
density: In Middle Region of Shandong Province, row spacing is 100-120
cm; the spacing of two plants is 70-80cm; it can grow 10,500-13,500
plants/ha.. In the regions of Northeast and Inner Mongolia of China, the
row spacing is 100-120 cm(it can plant in both side of a ridge ) ; the
spacing of two plants is 60cm ; it can grow 13,500-15,000 plants/ha.. In
the region that temperature difference is big and sunshine is strong in a
day ,such as Xinjiang etc., the plants density can be increased to
13,500-18,000 plants/ha.. |
