No.3 Zibima No.3 is a middle-late ripe hybrid variety, it is bred from a capsule non thorn type middle ripe group for a female parent with a introduced from overseas, anti-disease big grain type and autogamy group that late ripe for a male parent .
1. Yield Performance: In 1998, it took part in the whole province new
varieties area compare experiments of castor-oil plant . Compared with the
contrast , the increased production is 25.1％,the yield is in the first
position of all the test new varieties. In 1999, the average yield is
4.206 t./hectare which is the whole province production experiment.
Compared with the contrast , the increased production is 34.94％. Single
plant production potential is more than 1000g.

Characteristics: Young stem is a deep reddish purple color. The caulis
is lilac. The plant high is 200 cm, it has 5-6 first branches. Single
plant can grow 7-8 spikes. The spike shape likes a pagoda
.The main spike long 55cm. .The capsule has thorns, but it is few. The
seed shape is an ellipse, and has red brown color grain. 100 seeds weight
is about 44g. The kernel rate is 76.4% .The seeds contain oil 49.57%, and
the kernel contain oil 64.88%.

The Main Points of Cultivation: It possesses many the outstanding
characteristics such as high production, stable yield, anti disease, big
spike, big grain, growing strong etc.. It can be planted in the area of
the whole country that have no frost time more than 125 days. In Shandong
Province, the sowing time is from the last ten-day of March to the first
ten-day of April. Row spacing is 100-120 cm; the spacing of two plants is
70-80cm;
it can grow 12,000-15,000 plants/ha.. |
